AMANDA’S TRAINING SERIES
Over the past year, Amanda has worked tirelessly to document her training process in an easy step-by-step program with lessons for everyone, no matter their level of riding or ambition.
With any success comes many mistakes, and Amanda has not shied away from exposing her own; her belief being that our greatest lessons come from watching others peoples triumphs and setbacks. As Otto von Bismarck said, "Only a fool learns from his own mistakes. The wise man learns from the mistakes of others.”
Amanda also believes that building solid foundations is essential for achieving long-term, sustainable success, whether that is in the competition arena or simply in the bond between horse and handler, something she echoes throughout her training series. This begins with understanding how horses communicate through their body language and behaviours and how we communicate in response through our body language, intention and energy.
After that, we need to educate our horse how to follow 'the feel' and how and when to apply pressure and release, a classical technique that has carried through the ages and is still very relevant today. Through correct feel and timing, and careful management of your horses emotional, physical and chemical state, it is possible to build a long-lasting and compassionate relationship with your horse beyond your wildest dreams.
In Amanda's training series below, she works with several horses as they work through certain milestones. To get the most out of these training series, it is recommended that you watch her 'How To Series' first. This includes her 'How To Ridden Work,' 'How To Ground Work, and finally 'Position Work.' After that, you can flick through each training series to watch individual training videos. These videos include bio's explaining the content of the video and the milestones the horse is working towards.
