Flexing Down at Walk
Flexing down with forward momentum is referred to as a horse taking the contact or going on the bit. When a horse 'flexes down' they should have a soft neck carriage with their nose at or in front of the vertical. Their nose should never be tipped behind the vertical as this encourages the horse to become imbalanced, become tense through their body and increase the risk of muscle atrophy and body soreness.
