In this video series, I work with Bella, a 10-year-old mare rescued by SPCA from starvation and abuse. She was initially handled by another training but presented early on with a myriad of issues, including anxiousness, hyper sensitivity, nervousness around humans, pain responses in her poll, tightness in her body, difficulty catching and more.
Her training journey is super interesting and follows me doing a sore horse check and treament, teaching her basic ground work skills and then backing and going on adventures around the farm. Her conclusion is also interesting, and while not the initial goal of her training series, I feel that it is important to share to showcase that all horses have different coping thresholds and choices need to be made for the wellbeing of the horse.
